Rifugio Malga Malera

In the core of Lessinia, amongst the green pastures and wonderful alpine farmsteads (malghe) appears Rifugio Malga Malera (mountain hut). A mountain rifugio that is only 15mins on foot from the centre of San Giorgio di Bosco Chiesanuova.

Malga Malera is open all year at the weekends and it welcomes hikers of every type.

At the rifugio (mountain hut ) it is possible to enjoy the typical dishes of the Veronese mountains; alpine gnocchi (di malga) prepared as tradition would have it, speck knodel (canederli), pasta and beans, wild venison stew (spezzatino) with polenta, local cold meats and cheeses, homemade desserts and much much more. 

Malga malera is a special place, the building dates back to the 1800 and it was used by shepherds for the summer grazing season. Today Alberto and Alessandra have transformed and renovated this malga into a hikers Rifugio so to welcome anyone with a passion for the mountains. 

A young and polite staff is ready to welcome you to this unique spot!

Opening:

Open all year on Saturdays and Sundays for lunch.
Open everyday for lunch from June to the end of August.
Open everyday for lunch during the Christmas season.
Open for dinner all year by request.
